Established in 1927, Gritt's Farm is a 3-season operation proudly serving West Virginia as an events and experiences destination from Spring to Fall. The farm features a Garden Center, hydroponic and field production, a farm share program, and specialty events including farm-to-table dinners, planting workshops, a fall festival with 30+ attractions, and a new spring festival with tulips coming in 2024. Additionally, the farm is in its third year of growing Christmas Trees for future Christmas-themed events. Gritt’s Farm seasonally operates several farmer's market retail locations within a 35-mile radius, including Downtown Charleston’s Capitol Market.

The farm's family roots began with Veto and Nally Gritt’s establishment of the current farm operation. Lee Gritt (2nd generation) was the visionary credited with growing West Virginia’s first hydroponic tomato in the 1980s and used to raise 15,000 chickens at a time when delivering eggs door-to-door. Bob Gritt (third generation) is the current owner and operator of the farm and discovered agritourism by planting a pick-your-own pumpkin patch years ago. The family’s fourth generation (Brad & Bobby) manages day-to-day operations, and the fifth generation is growing up at Gritt’s Farm today.

From the former days of growing eggs and tobacco to now growing pumpkins and tulips, the farm has evolved to serve the needs of local and national guests over time. With a combined 400 acres farmland, we strive to innovate, provide unique experiences, and make those around us feel like they are part of something special.
