Our Story...

Long Acre Farms is a 4th generation family farm that planted its roots in the Macedon area in the 1920s. The farm has evolved and adapted through the years and our family has enjoyed providing the Rochester area with family fun since 1993 with our agri-tourism farm. We boast the longest-running corn maze in New York State, which started in 1998. We host a full list of summer events, including our very popular Summer Music Series and adult-only Wine Walks. Long Acre Farms is the perfect location for your next celebration, hosting events from showers to weddings and corporate events.

JD Wine Cellars has been in operation since 2010 specializing in small-batch, hand-crafted red, white, and 100% fruit wines in both bottles and cans. All of our grapes come from New York State, within the Finger Lakes region and from within our own county. Sold on-premise at Long Acre Farms, JD Wine Cellars provides a welcome addition to our many events on the farm.

We truly have something for everyone! Browse our farm market with a number of local and seasonal products, grab a treat from the ice-cream shop, explore the Back 40 attractions or simply lounge in a rocking chair with a glass of wine. We are proud to welcome guests to our family farm and look forward to creating lasting memories for your family.

Catering & Wood-Fired Pizza Session (Held in the Station)

In the Catering & Wood-Fired Pizza session, Sarah will focus on the farms catering & (very popular) wood-fired pizzas. All catering and food is handled in-house. We cater private events, corporate groups, weddings, parties, and special events, anywhere from 20-1000 people. In addition, we handle all food for the fall festival weekends. During the session Sarah will share some catering tips she’s learned along with her list of her favorite must have equipment/tools for successful catering events. 5 years ago, she brought a beautiful copper-domed wood-fired oven to the farm and it drastically changed and improved the food offerings on the farm. She will go in depth on the cost, food costs, recipes, and provide live demonstrations on making sourdough pizza doughs & firing the pizzas in the oven.

Specialty Food
(Held in the Ice Cream Shop)

In the Specialty Food session we will dive into the farm treats we offer throughout the season. Interested in adding “easy” fall treats like candy & caramel apples? We’ll demonstrate how we make, package and sell them, along with all the upfront costs. The farm also has a number of specialty treats that have grown in popularity over the years: ice-cream waffle tacos, donut ice-cream sandwiches, cookie sandwiches, apple cider milkshakes, ice-cream flights. We will walk you through how to make each item, along with our costs and profits.

Events, Weddings, Corporate (Held in the Red Barn)

During this session, Terri will discuss and share information and details on weddings, corporate events, private parties, and specialty events (example -Murder Mystery Dinners, I-Spy, Capes and Crowns and Rescue Round up).    Information will include venue space, catering packages, add-ons, pricing and software used for contracts and scheduling (Tripleseat). We have a very loyal Specialty Events following which allows us to be creative and try new event ideas. The farm has been doing a Princess Breakfast (now called Capes and Crowns) now for 8 years.  We can discuss the different events we have tried that have been both successes and failures.

Retail
(Held in the Market)

In the Retail session, Gabbi will focus on showcasing our unique retail products as well as some fun and easy display ideas. She will share a vendor list of our favorite products, sample some of our gourmet specialty foods, and chat about our POS System "Revel".  We will touch on sense of abundance, changing displays, and how sampling can increase sales. She will teach you the importance of standing behind your brand; such as eco-friendly, local, hand-made. Also, the significance of having private labeled and logoed items to really help customers remember your shop. She will explain some DIY projects that have elevated our retail items and displays. Learn how Americas Mart and other wholesale websites have really helped us grow.

Winemaking/Tasting Room Operations
(Starts in the Tasting Room)

In this session, Audrey will talk about all things wine and alcohol. Interested in starting your own wine production on the farm or sampling selling alcohol? JD Wine Cellars is a great example of how to do so on a small scale with cost-efficient equipment investments. You will visit the wine production space as well as the Tasting Room. Audrey will go over both wine and retail products, wine slushies, canned wine, partnering with breweries and distilleries, and adult-only events (i.e. Find the Wine).
